Orange PCS CCJ??

Hi to all,

After trying to reent a house through an agency and upon them doing a Credit Reference it has come to my attention that Orange PCS ltd have issued me with a lovely CCJ back in 2006.

The helpful lady at credit expert told me that it was from a time when i didnt live at the address the debt related to but that was all she could tell me.

This is unfortunately affecting any attempts of either renting or buying a house as notr many estate agencies acceopt prospective tenants with ccjs, (although none seem to tell you until youve paid money for a credit check).

Anyway. Does anybody know how or what i need to do to get this Orange PCS problem resolved, Any contact info or ways i can appeal if i have very little information about the debt myself??

All info duely appreciated

Thanks

Simon

Experian (CreditExpert) should be able to give you the contact details of Orange PCS.

I have no idea who they are, so i cant give you any details. There is someone you can contact to get a list of CCJs against you, getting this might be a good idea. If you can find out about it you can then put a defence against it to see if it is even yours.

Failing that if nothing shows, and there is no means to contact them, see page 19 onwards - http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/practical_application/credit_explained_leaflet_2005.pdf

    Hi Simon

Did you default on a debt with orange? Did you cancel a phone contract and not pay the last bill (or freeserve or wanadoo - which they took over I think)
If so they only have to send court papers to the last known address.

If you contact the court that issued the CCJ they should be able to provide you with further info. You will probably then need to arrange to pay the CCJ and provide evidence to the court that it has been paid, you will still show as having a CCJ but it will at least show as satisfied.

If you still live at the same address orange knew about and did not receive court papers you may be able to get the judgement set aside - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=12_how_to_set_aside_a_judgment_in_the_county_court

Also if you are certain you do not owe the money again you may be able to get it set aside http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/d_how_county_court_judgments_affect_your_credit_rating.pdf
