how is it electronic - yes it is with land registry but if they had your deeds during the time of the mortgage then it has been in a fireproof building
the deeds have to be got from this building (if you want them, or else that can be destroyed) and sent recorded delivery - this all costs money right
kenshaz - really am suprised you had your mortgage with them0 -

£50 seems a lot for a recorded delivery,I no longer have a mortgage with them, but I play the game and if a product is in my favour ,I use it,I remain open minded.
They are held by the land registry electronically, and Halifax informed them electronically, that they no longer have a charge on the mortgage. So £50 to send a message ,get the deeds and post them,10 minutes work, thats £300 an hour, and yes they had already had £175 admin fee to close my mortgage, fortunately I had no redemption penaltyTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0
