I think that lenders are being very picky about who they lend to at the moment, and even those of us with the best of credit are having problems obtaining credit.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs
30lb lost of 30lb by June 2012 :j:j:j (80lb overall goal)0 -
PS. I did ask my bank about this a few months ago, however they said due to my poor behavioural score they couldn't do much for me at the moment. I realise that I used to sail a bit too close to the wind in my current account and it's something I've changed, but alas what is done is done.
You're bank won't lend to you.
Another bank (Sainsburys) won't lend to you.
There's a pattern build!
Time will, eventually, heal your credit history. A missed payment a few years ago is better than a missed payment a few months ago.
Make sure you never sail close to the wind again and try building up some savings. Then you will need to borrow less.0 -
Hi guys,
I need a personal loan for around 9k for a lease extension (and it's probably a loan I could repay in a couple of months
If you can potentially repay a 9k loan + interest in a few months then why not save and buy a car outright (if that's what you arer leasing).
No brainer in my book
Late payments in the last year will screw you over a decent interest rate anyway.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I realise the error of my ways but unfortunately there is not much I can do about it now but I am trying to improve my standing for the future. It's not for a car, if it was I would as you say just buy it outright in a few months and unfortunately I do need the money very soon.
Do you guys have suggestions for the next lender to try or are they much of a muchness?0 -
You could try a further advance on your mortgage if you have enough equity?
You could try the 'smart loan search' on moneysupermarket.com to see where you might get accepted.
You could ask a parent or family friend to make a joint application with you as a small blemish on your credit rating seems to have cut you off from mainstream lenders and a sole application.
Good luck
R.Smile , it makes people wonder what you have been up to.0 -
