Weatherspoons drinks

Options
Hi i would like to advise some people to check the sell by date on their drinks in the Bridge house weatherspoons in Belfast, last week when in me and my friend bought a bottle of beer and it was 5 months out of date, Also the glasses that we were giving were disgusting, They did change the bottles when after half way of drinking them and said sorry but that was it, Just some advice for anyone drinking there to keep an eye on the date of the drinks, Don't think i will be back here again. Btw despite knowing that all these drinks were out of date after taking a few off them out of the fridge they put them back in again about an hour later, Clearly must be thinking some other drunk mug will buy them.

In general Weatherspoons are famous for providing a poor overall service, I don't frequent these public houses at all.
  • Yeah shaz77 i doubt very much i will be going back, I wrote an email to there customer service the other day and have yet to hear back from them.

Expect no response from their customer services, I am still waiting from over a year ago.

I am no fan of Wetherspoons, but Bottled beers usually have a BEST BEFORE date, and whilst it is not best practice to sell it beyond this date, it is perfectly legal. If it was a USE BY date then that is a different matter and a call to EHO would be in order

You must bear in mind that people in this part of the world (NI) have no idea what real ale is, let along drink it. I don't think Wetherspoons even bother to try and sell it here. Any form of bottled urine with a label satisfies the local punters. Maybe that's why Wetherspoons appear to treat them so badly.

Lat time I was in the Weatherspoon's the op's named,it was full of largered up & fighting students from the nearby QUB.I've been to them in England & never had any issues.I think that one the OP mentioned is bad due to it's location in the city.

Location may have an impact, but I think pi$$ poor management has more to do with how the atmosphere is in a pub like this one.
  • I've been talking to people on another forum and they tell me that the reason why weatherspoons are able to sell the drink so cheap is because they nearly always buy it very cheaply as a lot of it is close to it's sell by date, I didn't know this before, Also i am not sure if it was a use bye date on the bottle or a sell by date but i will check as they sell the same bottles in tesco and i will know then if it was use bye or sell bye. I wasn't really expecting a response from them to be honest but the way to get them back is to let everyone know what they are doing with some drinks. We also showed quite a few people in the bar that night the bottles. I notice that these days the 1 in Belfast is pretty empty most nights.
