Ukfrog : “What you can do about it?”

Not a lot - or even nothing.

Yes, you’re right, it’s a growing problem as data harvesting increases exponentially year on year and the global village gets smaller and smaller. The final nodal point is predicted by futurists to be occurring sometime in the next 20 to 100 years at which point we have singularity and there is no longer any personal individuality any more. Everyone and all machines all converge together into one coordinated planet earth organism. Your thoughts are continually heard and recorded via the chip installed in your head at birth and all the other ones that you qualify for as you get older. Everything you say and do is continually recorded and you only get to use your built in credit card chip if you’ve done sufficient work and behaved yourself. There’s no personal wealth or money just digital cash micro nano controlled by the world bank controlled by the world elite.

Resistance is futile, it’s inevitable. You can run but you can’t hide. And soon you won’t even be able to run anywhere as it’ll all be saturated with sensors and video cameras. Every last nook and cranny across the whole planet.

In the meantime, having a John Smith type name gives you a little bit of protection as it’s a bit harder to pick out which one is which as there are so many. And, as you say, not signing up to various databases that it’s possible to avoid keeps you off some of the lists. Using cash instead of credit cards, bank transfers, standing orders and direct debits etc leaves a bit less of a data footprint. Not signing up to shop cards and the electoral roll and various services keeps you off some of the lists. But not much.

At the end of the day it doesn’t make much difference, you’re on hundreds of government and big business lists whether you like it or not.

Of course a partial solution can be to go and live in India, Africa, south America or most Asian countries where there’s currently a lot less resources and technology so you can probably mostly stay a lot more off radar in those places than in the west. But it’s only a matter of time before all those places are all on lockdown like here. There’s currently only 6.8 billion people on the planet and you can have all of them listed and tracked with just a few petabytes or exabytes of data to cover the whole lot.

So, we’re all doomed. So eat drink and be merry cos tomorrow we die. It’s the end of the world as we know it. It’s the final countdown. It’s inevitable. It’s evolution and progress and nothing stands in the way of progress. So get used to it and make your plans now for how you’ll function in the brave new world.

By the way, when you go on 192.com and similar they harvest the data you input when you're checking stuff about yourself and add it to their database. So bear that in mind if you go on their site, they're a black hole sucking everything in and even light can't escape, the gravity's that strong. You have been warned.

They have us living with people I have never heard of... does that need changing or should I just leave it?

They might be people who've lived in your house previous to you, my listing has me living with the previous owners of my dad's old house (which he sold 2 years ago) and my dad (who I haven't lived with for 3 years). It's not all that accurate and it can't seem to find where I am now. Guess that's the advantage of moving every year, I'm untraceable. :D

even if removed they can still do an id verify which checks experian via 192.com . As they are always buying data like GB group, you data could be back within a few weeks

to remove my electoral roll record. This was 2 weeks ago. This was sent be registered post and I have proof of signature but my details are still there. In fact when I google my name it actually comes up as the 1st search found. This didn't happen before. What legal rights do I have and where do I go from here?

I typed in my name and postcode and it said that there are 'no free results with your search'

    Is this good or bad????

It's asking me to buy 'credits' to view the information, so I have no idea what info there actually is.

How do I go about trying to get my details off there when I'm not sure what they have and don't want to have to pay to see it!!!
