Tesc Club Card at Goldsmiths - worth it?

Im really struggling to spend my tesco club card voucers, however for every on pound you can get 4 pound in goldsmiths vouchers.

But i would prefer not to if goldsmiths was like 40% overpriced anyway?

any reccomendations , and would this be a reasonable investment?

Depends what you are going to buy. For example, wedding rings costing £1,000 in Goldsmiths will cost you the equivalent of £250 worth of vouchers that you could use in Tesco. And personally I don't think Goldsmiths are too over priced, certainly not 40% anyway!

Why not use them for a holiday? Quite a few hotel chains accept them for weekend breaks, again you get 4 times the value. Lots of restaurants will take them too, or buy RAC cover with them - vrey MSE when you have 2 cars & it only costs about £57 in vouchers!

I always use my vouchers in Goldsmiths and have a beautiful wardrobe of jewellery to show for it. I think there is a £200 minimum spend so make sure you have enough vouchers or you'll end up having to top up. I do think the quality/design of their jewellery is better than in most high street shops. I have seen some beautiful pieces in there that definitely would not be found in H Samuel! I have basically spent my vouchers on classic pieces that I have always dreamed of owning. I live in London so always go to their biggest store there.

They have a 50% sale on at the moment so not a bad time to take a look.

However, on price it rather depends, if you live close to London and Hatton Garden, or the Jewellery District of Birmingham, then you can probably find a lot better prices than you can in Goldsmiths. Probably not overpriced compared to most high street jewellery chains though.

I personally would not spend the kind of money they want for a diamond unless it came with a certificate of Colour, Clarity and Carat weight and I can see no mention of them having this - apologies if they do, I have only looked at the website:o

No point in having a one carat diamond that is so cloudy it is like looking in a milk jug I'm afraid:o

Personally, I prefer a single diamond rather than a few little ones. This item is one diamond at 0.25 rather than your 4 diamonds totalling 0.30. Same price too.

OMG, is that a realistic price for that necklace? I'm in the same boat....struggling to find something suitable to spend my points on and was also considering Goldsmiths but the tightwad in me keeps telling me they're overpriced.

I wasn't too worried about them being overpriced as the jewellery I bought was not something I could have afforded anyway. I never could have afforded to spend that much on jewellery so it was get it from Goldsmiths or go without. As I only owned costume jewellery before it was a huge treat for me. I have also not seen an equivalent to the pieces I bought in other shops. Before I applied for my vouchers I looked on their website and made sure there were pieces if absolutely yearned for on there! If you are just desperate to spend points maybe you should wait to see what the next deals brochure brings.
