Hi there
quick history (promise)
I have a cousin who is younger than me we only met when she was 14 and only kept in touch for 3 years due to our blinking fathers(brothers)
She is now grown up and a lovely girl we got in touch again thanks to facebook and have chatted loads and have become quite close again
She is getting married and had invited me, my mum, my sis and my oh she has also invited my ds who is 3. She is funding this herself and has just sent us the details.
The hotel is unbelievable and she has booked us a room (which we are paying for of course and is expensive) We are the only ones from this side going and feel we have to go to support her and the fact that i am looking forward to it and a new dress hee hee:T:T:T
She has invited my son and i want to know should i suggest to her that it is ok he can stay with his other grand parents. It is not that we mind him going we love taking him every where we are very close and take him to resturantes anywhere with us its just i've found out it is £120 per head:eek:
do i offer her the oppertunity for him not to go or do i just be greatful and say thank you.
I dont want her to feel i don't want him there because i do but i also don't want her to feel she has to invite him.
He will look soooooooo cute in a suit though;););)

I think it's up to you. Would you rather take him or enjoy the day child free? I can be quite a long day for a small one and you wont be able to let your hair down and relax as you other wise would.
I wouldnt worry about the cost though - pretty sure there wil b a lower cost kids menu.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

ok first off...im sure it wont be that much for a 3 year old

they will more than likely have a special kids rate (as they dont eat much, wont be drinking, will prob be in bed before the party and possible evening buffet
)
if she has invited you all then she is obviously happy to pay for you guys being there
id accept and go and enjoy her day Married on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
I always believe that children make a wedding. That a few little kids bouncing around the dance floor and shoving cake in their mouths when no-one is looking is actually what a lot of good weddings are all about. Maybe this is her type of thinking?
I know that lots of people try to keep it all "perfect" and don't want the wee ones there causing any disruption.
Usually you find that the more expensive the hotel, the less they charge for the wee kiddies. I would seriously be surprised if they made any charge for your child.0 -
I got married in May 08 and invited loads of kids to my wedding because I wanted them there (what's a family wedding without loads of kids anyway?).
Firstly, she most likely won't be paying £120 for your son. Most wedding venues will do a kids' menu, or half portions of the adult meal at cut price.
Secondly, she wouldn't have invited him if she didn't want him there. She will have budgeted for him to attend the wedding and meal (if she's sensible!).
I say take him!Slimming World member - started 13 January 2010Starting weight: 11st 4.5lbs :eek:/ Current weight 11stMini Goal 1: 10st 11.5lbs (1/2 stone)10% Goal: 10st 2.5lbsMini Goal 2: 9st 9.5lbsGoal weight: 9st / 2.5lbs to MG1!0 -
I doubt very much that she is paying for your son. Our package (expensive chain) only counts children when they are 5 and above, with 5-12 yo being 50%.
Check you have a family room, and rememebr that you may have to pay for his breakfast though!0 -
£120 a head....heck....is it being held at Buckingham palace??
If she has invited him, then she is happy for him to be there, it's as simple as that. IF she didn't want him there she would have just sent the invite to you and your OH.
The only choice you have to make is if you want to take him or if you want a child free day, it's up to yourself.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Our venue charges 'only' £25 for the children compared to £67.50 per adult, but under 5's incur no cost, so I wouldn't worry about that. Its more down to whether you think you will have a better time with or without him. How ever reading your post I feel you would like to have him there.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
