ML's split ticketing advice
I watched the video about split ticketing advice. I tried to follow the advice but found that the search functions on the train ticketing websites were clunky and slow. Whilst there are probably savings to be made, actually finding them is arduous.
I tried to find details on a return journey to Hereford and after over 30 minutes of entering ticket details, it turned out there were no savings to be made - hardly time well spent!

Which 'train ticketing websites' were you using?
I find East Coast Trains website to be one of the least clunky.0
