how can i whiten old christening shawls please

i need to whiten the girls christening shawls so my grandson can wear one
I got them out of the loft and to be honest look ok but wanted to give them a boost , I am not a lover of glow white and thought they might be
a natural way

    Try soaking them in warm water with a couple of denture tablets it works with net curtains

    Hi there, soak them in warm water with some sugar soap...it works a treat on net curtains, so I imagine it will have the same effect on a shawl.

    Put them outside on a very frosty day. The frost makes old lace lovely and white again.
    I did this with an old lace shawl and it looked beautiful. It was a tip my old grandmother gave me many years ago.
