How long should inland revenue take to process tax rebate. I forwarded p50 with all relevant details asked for and on first contact with them was told it would be around 6 weeks to process due to mail, this was in early November, after contacting them on Friday was told that it would be around the 5 Feb before I would hear anything after previously being told I would receive rebate by 15 January, their reasoning for this was because of the mail and that it is a busy time of year. I know the call centre staff do not have the information needed to tell me if my claim is being processed (because this is what they tell me), is there any other way I can find out any information about my claim from any other department. Thanx:p

If you ask anywhere else you'll most likely get the same response. Possibly the dates have slipped due to the wave of illness that seems to be going around or because of the disruption caused by the recent bad weather.
If you're really desperate for it you could try calling again and explaining that you're in real need of it, otherwise there's not a lot else to do but sit tight until 15th.0
