£15 Topcashback -free LoveFilm trial

Apologies if this is old news, but I have just registered for a 21 day free trial with LoveFilm and Topcashback are offering £15 cashback just for registering for the trial.

As I understand it once I have cancelled this trial, I can also then register for the PAYG option with LoveFilm and get £15 cashback for this as well.

Be careful about your timing. You cannot cancel your subscription till you've returned all films.

So, you sign up, you wait for membership, you choose and order films, you wait for films. you watch - by now 2 weeks have passed so you phone to cancel. Can't. You send back the films. And call every day to cancel.
You are told your films have not yet been returned

3 weeks have passed and your 'trial membership' expires. As you have not cancelled, you are automatically signed up.... and billed!

Right, just an update for anyone thinking about using the LoveFilm offer.

I registered for the free trial through TopCashBack. Watched the first film they sent and then went to my LoveFilm account and emptied all the films from my list. I then followed the links to cancel my trial. I then posted the first DVD back to Lovefilm the next day, using Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. (Cost 97p).
I received an email from LoveFilm saying my account was pending cancellation, subject to them receiving my final DVD.
Within 2 days I had been sent two free adult cinema tickets for Vue cinemas, valid until end of Feb, no accompanying letter, just a LoveFilm compliments slip (Perhaps a retention ploy? Maybe this perhaps replaces the cash back offer?) A day after this, a cancellation email, confirming my account had been closed.
So far, no sign of the cashback...I'll keep checking. But still pretty chuffed - cost me 97p for a DVD rental and two free cinema tickets. No problems with cancelling either. I think the trick is to be mega organised with returning and cancelling.

    Use code: DD11JAN1 on signup.

It excludes existing subscribers, but doesn't mention not being valid for previous subscribers. Code expires in September 2011.

That link doesn't work. The link for Quidco is http://www.quidco.com/lovefilm-dvd-rental/ but they charge you a £5 annual fee. Topcashback are offering £17.17 cashback and have no annual fee http://www.topcashback.co.uk/lovefilm/

However, both sites offer 2 week trials only, so you'll probably only get one dispatch before you need to return your discs and cancel and cashback is only for new subscribers.

  • I don't know if it's still valid, but I went through a link on MSE in December and it gave me 2 weeks plus £10 Boots voucher. I did it through Topcashback and also got £15.15 as well, which has been paid out already!

I went for the full package. You'd be amazed how many online films you can watch and I even got to complete the latest Professor Layton game, which I was going to buy, before cancelling the trial!

I don't think you can go through Topcashback and then enter another code as TCB pre-populates the form with a TCB code.

Doesn't work for anyone who has had an existing account, or at least not for me.

    But thanks anyway OP.
