MissSold PPi and Guarantee

Hi All

I guaranteed a loan for my son which was to mop up his business debts with LLoyds TSB. This loan includes miss sold PPI and I am wondering if the guarantee is invalid because of the miss sold PPI ? He has left the country and left me to pay off the debt.

Any advise welcome.

You may be able to reclaim the PPI, but you will be liable for the loan.
  • I take it then you think it was missold not him?

The bank will only take a missold claim from your son as you are merely a guarantor - a double whammy I'm afraid unless you can find him.

Not sure whether you would prefer to throttle him or advise him about this in the future?

Have you written him out of your will yet?
