My boyfriend, who is has dubious financial history to say the least seems to be hiding things from me...today i have just found a letter from a solicitors dated December saying they are going to put a charging order on the property. However he doesnt own the house. I do! The mortgage is in my name. Can the solicitors put a charging order on my house??!! He isnt here at the moment...when i see him im going to wring his neck but really need some sound advice please?!

No.....they need to check with the land registry then they'll find out that you own it. I wouldn't wring his neck just yet it's probably just a letter detailing what might happen they need to have a CCJ first.:footie:

Thank you. He really should come on these boards. He gets debt letters and "files" them...i call it ignoring the problem! I dont work like that and although i have debt i am in constant touch with the people i owe money to. I suppose everyones different though!
Ive worked so hard for my home that when i saw that letter i had a fit!0
