Has anyone got a recommendation for a Tax Preparer/CPA experienced in preparing US tax returns for American Expats in the UK?
If not, do you know if the online tax software such as Turbotax etc, would be good for american expats in the UK.
These questions may not be answered here due to it being a UK site, but its worth a try!

I'm also an American, but I just moved to the UK during 2009 so this is the first year I'm filing as an expat.
I know Taxcut (which I believe was renamed H&R Block something this year) has the forms you will need. If your taxes are straight forward, you can probably get away with using software.
You're probably better off asking this question at someplace like uk-yankee. It has a tax section0 -
I woul be very cautious about using software designed for & by US persons. It simply won't address the US/UK tax treaty, or how to report UK pension plans, ISAs, PAYE, currency losses, non-dom and NOR rules...idally choose a dual qualified US/UK tax adviser. There are several US tax and financial companies in the UK...check Google if you do not know anyone.0

I have used TradeMax for one year, it has comprehensive funcitons, supports various symbol types ( option, future, stock, commodities, funds), runs up to more than Ten reports ( MTM Form 4797, Schedule D, Section 1256 Report), handle large quantity records and import your trade data directly from some online broker. It really worths a try!0

You sound like a spam more than I am!0 -
I can give you the name of my tax preparer (US and UK qualified) ex- big four/five accounting firm IF he agrees. Works privately, so a lot less expensive.
