NU and Standard Life pensions

Just had "Bonus pack" for my NU section 32 buy out.
No bonus due to the "very significant guaranteed benefits".
It matures in 2016 and has probably been going since 1986.
Any idea whether it's reasonable to leave this where it is?
I also have a executive pension with Standard Life which I'm not going to pay any more into - paid for three years ending around 2000.
Ditto for that.
These don't really form part of my retirement planning so I'm not too worried about them.
Will get round to seeing an IFA sometime but never really seem to have time.

Probably. With GMPS and GARs likely, these are probably worth more than any bonuses.I also have a executive pension with Standard Life which I'm not going to pay any more into - paid for three years ending around 2000.

SL have a large internal and external fund range which you can utilise to good effect. Many of the funds are quite cheap as well.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
