Help! Have I made a boo boo buying all these reduced rolls?

I've just been into my local Morrisons, not only was it lovely and quiet as everyone was watching the football, but I also got some lovely reduced crusty rolls and a pack of donuts.

I always freeze bread and rolls, but these are crusty so will they still be ok to freeze? And should I repack them as they are in that flimsy stuff the bakeries use. I know it wasn't a huge amount of money but I'll be really annoyed if I can't freeze them!

Also, can you freeze donuts, they have custard in them and I don't have a sweet tooth and even OH can't eat 6 lol
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!

I always put rolls into freezer bags if they're in the flimsy packets.
You can freeze the donuts, I've worked in cafes and they're often delivered frozen and they were always ok when they defrosted.

we sometime by cheap doughnuts and freeze them - we have tried just about all sorts.

You can defrost & warm them in the microwave, OH likes them served with a scoop of ice cream - all melty over the doughnuts

I freeze both crusty rolls and donuts (in their original packaging) and they're fine.

When you are planning on using the crusty rolls, sprinkle them with a little water and pop them into a hot oven for a few minutes to give them a freshly baked taste.

    Hi All,

It it okay (or more does it wreck) doughnuts that state on the label 'Do not refreeze' implying that they must have been frozen at some point.

Tesco Mini Doughnuts ususally state this, as do some from other shops

    Cheers

It's not recommended to refreeze previously frozen items because the chilling, warming up, chilling and then warming up again creates an environment in which bacteria can flourish, thus raising the chances of you contracting food poisoning.

I live on Morrisons reduced food! I don't think the doughnuts are pre- frozen as I have frozen them in the past and alwats take care to check labels.

I always freeze the bread/ rolls/ crossiants etc and have no problems. I also freeze the cheese.

I think a lot of supermarket baked cakes and the like are frozen at some point, I know sainsburys muffins are.

Anything that has been frozen once should not be refrozen.
