Switching to public transport will also save a fortune in petrol costs.

This is the SOA. Fill it in 100% accurate including ALL incomings and ALL outgoings. Once you have done it click on the MSE link and you can then copy and paste it onto here and we'll take it from there.

    Ok so-
Car Insurance-£220 A month ends in 3 months, will then get a cheaper car or cheaper insurance ~ Ok a cheaper car would be the better option, not a gas gazzler as you have posted below. Its just to get you from a-b it doesnt need to be flash.

    Bank Loan- £98 A month

Contract Phones £75 a month end in 2 or 3 months time (will phone vodafone in the morning and Find out when) We both have Old £15 Handsets already ~ I origanlly thought you prob had iphones/blackberrys for that contract amount.do you really spend £37 on calls each? Once the contracts end will you be going PAYG?

Motorbike Finance £50 I did Sell it, with plenty to pay it off agian i got excited with money and spent it on crap! ~ Ok, we all make silly mistakes, when does this end?

Tool man (work)£100- i have to have the tools to work- Im a mechanic and without them i dont have a job! ~ Fair enough, again when does this end?

Petrol £160 - i take the shortest route i can possiblly take I have a petrol Gussler (Big boy toy Mg zr 1.8) ~ As above, once you can sell your car do so and get something that is cheaper to run. Running this huge car is eating into your income.

I take sandwiches..and a bag of crisps and a bottle of CHEAP Squash to work for Lunch, ~ So do you gave a rough idea of what you spend on food to add to you SOA. If not keep all your reciepets and start a spending diary.

(No Public Transport where i live....out in the sticks:( )

I get 1 free Mot a year as im a mechanic,
Tax...Stings me when it appears, But ive got 7Months on it as got 12 months when she had a job, ~ Ok so you need to budget for this, even if you then buy a different car you need to budget for it. Even if you only put £10 in a jar each month. However it would be more MSE to open a savings account ;)

The OH Was Preg....Misscarried in Sept Weve sold all the baby Stuff, Dont Really have anything to sell.... ~ Have you checked? Old mobiles (envirophone), books (amazon/ebay), cd/dvd's/game's (music magpie) or old games consoles (ebay). Anything that will up your income.

Dental-£30 each for a check up every 12 months ~ This needs to be added to your SOA and saved for then. Otherwise likewise with the tax when you need the checkup that month will be tighter.

Gifts-SCREWED! ~ Could your OH comp online while she is at home for these (see the comping forum) or even find some freebies?

Also what is your Oh doing to look for a job? What did she do before? Can she sign up to agencys? While she is at home can she start soing something like Avon? What about a cleaning job?

Also do you ahve any other debts? Credit cards etc. These arent listed on your outgoings so I guess you dont have any

I am sure with a few small changes and when your OH gets a new job you will be able to afford your outgoings again. Its just geting you through these few months where your income is lower.

    Take care :D

You need to both sit down and go through the link i posted about.
Then you can go from there.
You really need to make major cutbacks or you won`t get out of this situation.

Does your OH sign on? she should get dentistry free if she does. She may be better off going to a job centre rather then online x

Is the hefty fee to get out of your insurance more than £600? Cos that's what it'll cost you to keep your car. Is there any way you can buy an old banger for a couple of hundred and get rid of the big car sooner? How will you afford to buy a new one when your insurance runs out?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Hey at least you have cottoned on to your problems early and young! Took me years to look at my situation. It looks like there a few ways you can make savings on your outgoings so the sooner you get a full soa done the quicker the good advice will come. Take care
