Hi OSer's
I have been given a fab Indian cotton tablecloth & matching napkins, about 30 years old, to fit my abnormal sized table but it is a horrible dark green & clashes terribly with my dining room. I don't want to waste it but don't feel I can use it the current colour. (I don't want to re-decorate to match the table cloth either!) I have used 2 lots of Dylon dye stripper (at £3 each) but it is hardly any lighter. Any suggestions on what else I can do to lift the colour? I would ideally like to get it light enough to dye it red or orange but at present it would just end up a horrible grungy colour (might hide the inevitable spills though:rolleyes:), anything else I can use apart from bleach which will probaby kill the fabric?
Thanks guys;)

could you not add a table runner on top to add a different colour to it?
what colours is in your dining room already?Make £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

Dining room is burnt orange & white with shades of honey & red (very African themed), the table cloth is a HORRID shade of green which just clashes with the room, crockery, everything. I know it sounds perdantic but it si soooo hard to get tabel cloths to fit my table (I can't sew) & I like entertaining in a co-ordniated room. The table is round so a runner won't work. Thanks for the idea though.
Any other ideas.....please:o:o:oPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
