Post Code as wrong address

This is a problem I have suffered with for years and just drives me nuts.
(First this is a fake address / Post Codes)
1-10 Jams Court, West Close ZZ1 1AA
1-10 Sam Court, West Close ZZ1 1AB
1-10 Peter Court, West Close ZZ1 1AC
Well you get the idea
Now 70% of time when tell them the post code ZZ1 1AB they get the address correct "Sam Court, West Close" but some times they just get it as "West Close" which is wrong. I get told by who ever that I have not gaven them the wrong post code as address it gives is wrong.
Some times it makes open an accounts at Cahoot an problem as they have wrong address. I have check my post code with Royal Mail own web site and it says my address correct ie ZZ1 1AB as "Sam Court, West Close". I just wish I could find out who is selling this incorrect database of post codes and get them to fix it.

Another disgruntalled customer here. I get post for another woman in a different road. She gets my post too. However its not just my mail that gets mixed up its couriers, doctors, firemen (that was just not funny at 3am). I had a whole bible group turn up on my doorstep too.
The reason why its mixed up is that there are two roads with identical names, except that one has a 'Close' on the end and its not listed in the A-Z.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes, I had the same with an investment property we owned: (Fictitious address)
The Larches, Oldham Road YY3
Oldham Road, YY3
It was always (after giving the postcode) 'Is that 106 Oldham Road' To which I would reply, 'No, it's 106 the Larches, Oldham Road'
Sorry it's not in our database, is it a new building?'
The apartments had been there since 1965 and always called the Larches.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
You may have tried this already have you contacted your local council as my local district council have a department that deals with street and house numbering and naming. They might be able to help liase with the Royal Mail and their P.A.F (Postal Address File) to correct any discrepancies there might be on the database as Royal mail should be keen to sort it out if it is causing problems with wrong delivery of mail0

Again I too have this problem although since my home was built in 1985 you think the database would of been updated by now.0

I had the same problem where I lived on a small street of six houses which was part of a bigger road all covered by the same post code.
Consequently there were two houses with the same number and identical postcodes but technically had different street addresses. But as most companies simply ask for house number and post code, it caused all sorts of problems.
I wrote to Royal Mail and they were very quick to sort out the problem by allocating a new post code to our row. Maybe you could try and do the same.0
