morgage offer in writing

Options
One I receive my mortgage offer in writing is will it mean that I have definately got the mortgage and that all financial checks have been done, I know the surveyor has been out to look at the property and has hinted to the seller that that is nothing to worry about.

thanks

If it is a formal offer than yes, once it is in writing thats good enough to exchange with. Do check that it isn't just an agreement in principle which is subject to conditions (like valuation) and isn't really worth the paper its written on.

Brilliant. We're in the same position as you at the moment (well nearly). we applied for mortgage on Monday afternoon, and are waiting for the survey to be done (should be any day now).

Just out of interest, what bank are you using?
