Jeans with NO elastic!

Is it just me or has every clothing company decided to add an elastic thread through jeans material these days?

I cannot bear a pair of jeans with elasticated material because after 1 wash the jeans loose their shape and slip and slide down -

Does anyone know of a brand/make of jeans which do not have the elasticated thread through the material.... Price is not an option... comfiness is!

Thanks!

    Have you tried Zara?

I have some skinny jeans from there and they don't seem stretchy at all. However, I had to buy a size smaller as they get bigger as you wash them - I put this down to them possibly have no stretch.

  • I watched a tv programme over the last couple of weeks, I think it was that Kim of the Jungle but in another programme and she said if you have elastic stretchy jeans - do not use clothes conditioner in the washing machine as it ruins the elastic.

Wish I had known about that years ago

Some Gap jeans don't have elastic - I have a skinny fit pair that have no stretch in them at all. They were £40.

Also, I have quite a few pairs of jeans with elastic in them for comfort and fit and none of them have become stretched or loose in the wash! I have H&M, Primark and River Island jeans that are fine after countless washes. Although I know Topshop jeans are notorious for falling down...
  • Thanks everyone... I'll try Zara and Levi's ( - never owned Levi's in my life!)

I'll also quit using fabric softner in with my jeans wash!

In my experience there are two types of jeans.

Non stretch - look good but really uncomfortable.

Stretch - comfortable but start slipping down unless you wear a belt to hold them up, and not as good looking.

The problem is (I think) that companies use cheap elastic fibers to make the jeans stretch. These don't hold their shape as well and some even disintergrate over a short amount of time, leaving you with...saggy *ss look! (or otherwise known to me as the-wannabe-a-gansta-rappa-boyfr fit!)
Moral of the story is to get decent branded jeans, and I'm sorry to say not one of them seems to exist on the highstreet, they all seem to be designer brands! TKMaxx anyone? I think its a sort of trial and error though as even some designer brands have rubbish elastic in them plus time (years) can decay the fibers, again meaning the fabic loses its shape easily.

Non stretch jeans are not always the best for keeping their shape either- if the fibers are very soft its a normal give away for the non-stretch denim losing its shape and giving you the saggy *ss look all over again! The denser and firmer the fabric the less likely to do this.

Others have already suggested some brands but I'd say look at proper demin jean stores, not stores that do their own jeans as part of the rest of their stock. Not that all are bad, but your more likely to get a better quality denim from proper jeans stores.

Stores/brands that come to mind are Levis, Pepe, Diesel, Earnest Sewn...etc etc. I'd try TKMaxx for non stretch stuff personally.
