Help wanted - pay off loan early

HELP !!! I currently have a loan with sainsbury todays balance £18722.86 with 74 months left at 9.5% apr.

I want to pay it off earlier but have been told not to make extra payments against the loan as it's taken off the interest. Instead I was advised to save and pay off in full.

They said if I save £100 per month i can pay the loan of in 40 months, but this doesn't make sense to me.....

If i save £100 extra per month how early can i pay it off in full? And what if i saved £150 or £200 per month?

Please help i don't understand all this loan /interest info.
