    Hi Cialilerin

    Thank you:beer:

I am still here - and debt isn't going up, but it isn't going down either:(

I have a family holiday this month - which although there is no accommodation costs etc., is still going to cost in travel, days out etc etc. I have decided I am just not going to get stressed over debt busting this month. A couple of other things have cropped up as well (broken washing machine, tumble dryer, several family birthdays/anniversaries to name but a few). I've coped with it all and not increased the debt but haven't decreased the debt. That was seriously stressing me.
I was getting myself wound up and soooooo stressed - and in doing so ended up wasting more money because I started thinking 'oh what's the point - I'll never get there'. Have given myself a good talking too now:rotfl: The debt free date can slip a month or so.

I can't clear loads every month and have to accept that plans go awry occasionally - it's about learning to live with hiccups that this journey throws at me (us....although DH is still not really on board with all this:o).

So I am planning on being back on the DFW wagon at the end of July.

Glad to see you are still ploughing ahead with DFW life:beer:

Oh....and I did get the washing machine repaired...but who needs a tumble dryer at the moment...that one can wait for (hopefully) a few more months;)

PA have you got an emergency fund? It is wise to get one started and fill it as quickly as possible. The recommendation is get it to £500 as soon as you can then add to it till it becomes 3 months normal outgoings. The £500 I think is to cover things like washer and boiler repairs. Things can and do go wrong and it seems to be when you can least afford it. Enjoy your holiday.

I like the way you think PA - sometimes we just have to take a break from number crunching - and your debt hasn't gone up which is fantastic!

Welcome back! I had a similar bad patch - although my debt went up!!! Fortunately I have come back feeling far more positive and despite going away for a few days next month and having 3 bdays in August and 2 in September, I am actually in control and have budgeted for everything!

By the way, my dh still not on board either x

Another example of parallel lives! Read your new thread last night and sympathised over the extra expenses like the broken washing machine.
Asked dh to put a wash on before he went to bed last night and he woke me up this morning with the loving words of 'the washing machines broken!' Guess that's why I love him!:rotfl:

  • Came home today to flooded kitchen floor....dishwasher has gone wrong! Dishes were grubbier than when I put them in! I handwashed the whole load. Cleaned the filter, ran it on empty - only for the floor to flood again.

Still.....we can manage without a dishwasher....well an electrical one anyway cos we have ME

Awh thats just pants PA, I would have cried!

The same thing happened to a friend of mine and the waste outlet for the dishwasher was blocked - they pour mr muscle drain cleaner down it and left it for a day - job done!

Give the paper plates or better still hide all the crockery and cutlery apart from one each, that should make them think about cleaning there own (I know I know I am tired and therefore thinking stupid thoughts)
