Am currently looking to buy with my girlfriend, who until last year had a joint mortgage with her ex, over the last 6 months the payments were missed (I dont know al lthe details as she's very embarrassed about them), is this severely going to effect our new application? Dont know the full story behind them missing payments, and will obviously find out, but if its already completely blocked us getting a joint mortgage I'll stop doing my research
I have a good credit rating, never defaulted or missed a payment to anyone and am 8 years into my first mortgage
What questions will I ned the answers to from her to see if we can get a mortgage or not?
Thanks in advance

If buying in your own name it will not harm you.
If buying with your partner - I would stop doing the research.
The only thing you can do is get a copy of her credit file and see what it says on there.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
