Friday 15h January 2010 - What small DFW things have you done today !?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :T
Morning All
Hugs to those that need them, hi to all the regular posters and welcome to any newbies.
Friday Finally!!!!
Today I have/will:
· Check online banking – payday so moved money etc
· Read newspaper online
· Enter comps online
· Daily scratches
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have a NSD
· Start work as soon as I get there
· Washing on 30 – except for towels and t-shirts which need 40 to kill bugs etc
· Read more of my library book
· Look for a job
Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

Checked online banking - no probs
checked meters - gas usage exactly the same as last week - 22ft³ - a bit disappointing as I turned down a couple of rads and have kept the heating as low as poss in our comfort zone - but it has been very cold outside and there's always someone at home all day - so maybe not too bad really.

Morning Everyone
We have rain, cold and wet rain; if that makes sense.
I haven't posted much this week, but had a few nsd's (apart from things budgeted for), just been keeping up with work and applied for another job which took me ages, as it was one of these online monsters:rolleyes:, so we will see. Also been doing the accounts for my Rainbows unit, so have been a busy girl.
Today
I will check online banking
Emails - Replied to and done
Supposed to be going into town if my ds finishes his college application so we can drop it off.
Poundland run, Crisps, sweeties for dh and lightbulbs
Check through paperwork for clients so I can log into spreadsheets
fill out annual report for Rainbows unit, then that is done
Dinners from very full freezer, had some free food as MIL has emptied her freezer coz she didn't fancy what she had left (she is 82 and doesn't always have a good appetite so she is allowed)
Looking forward to weekend, but will be working a bit. Tomorrow good friend is going to wax my eyebrows:eek:. Then another good friend is coming round tomorrow evening for girlie night of watchin a film and probably laughing a lot.
Have a good friday folks:DMy finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -

Hi Guys
Finally got savings account sorted so transferred all misc pennies over my £500 "float" into savings account. Every Friday I will transfer money to and from the accounts to maintain my £500 float - working on the theory that if I can't see the balance in the hole in the wall I wont spend it.
Made bread in breadmaker then halogen oven. Dad addicted to my crusty white - and now that I've made him Leek and potato soup in the pressure cooker and rice pudding with loads of sultanas in the slow cooker he thinks Chrimbo has come again.
School bus driver has announced that he has sourced masses of decking offcuts for me to construct my "square-foot" gardening project. It may be that I will actually have enough to deck the dodgy bits of my garden too. Yipeee!!!! All I need to do is source loads of screws - OH! and wait for the snow to clear too.
Packed lunchboxes of snacks for the baby and DS for after swimming this afternoon. We have a half hour drive to ge home afterwards and they are usually starving. Sultana Bread slices, Twinks hob nobs, half a sandwich (with fresh warm bread), chopped grapes, apples and a bottle of water each. All HM too!!! So organised its scaring me.
Even got the money and the discount card counted out to buy DS his swimming pass for this term - so all his swimming comes in at half price.
Looked out some scrap material - gonna have a productive bag-making weekend.
Happy Days
