Sainsbury nectarines half price!

Just come home so could not post this before, but I was in Sainsbury Chiswick (West London) and they had loads of half price nectarine punnets. I bought 4 (all I could carry with the rest of the shopping) and although they are still hard they look good and in this heat they'll be ready in a day or two.

I expect the offer is countrywide. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

    yes, it is nationwide. A lot of the Sainsburys fruit is half price right now. As well as nectarines I saw half price stickers on strawberries, cherries, apricots and rhubarb.

    There are no 'offers' on Produce as such, as it's down to the cost of getting them in. For example Strawberries, this weather they have loads in...the more they buy, the cheaper each case will cost them.

    Believe me, I know. I work on Produce at Leamington.

    Strawberries were 'half price' all summer last year. Just like this year, they sold them at 'full price' for a week, maybe two at most. They never intend to charge £3.38 (£1.69 is half price) as they'd never sell them.

    The same will of course apply to other supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons etc.

    Even the "ethical" supermarket the Co-Op does this underhand trick.

    The amount of times people say to me;

    "Look what I got-half price!"

    And I ask them how much it was.

    The usual reply is;

    "Er......dunno.....half price though"

    At least with the Co-op their peaches & nectarines have been 99p per punnet all season, with no false half price offers, unlike the more major supermarkets.
    The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

    I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

    My local Co-Op has "half price" peaches and nectarines at 99p.

    Also "half price" strawberries at £1.69.
