help need advise on wedding plans

hi, well hope this works i have just spent 20 mins trying to fin how to add a message on, i need quite a lot of advice if anyone can help,
here it goes

i am getting married in may in zante, everything has been booked and planned, even had savings so wouldnt need to worry about money, up untill now!!!

my partner was made redundant just before xmas and is really struggling for work, ther money we had saved has had to be spent on morgages and bills so now we are paniking as the wedding budget is getting smaller and smaller,

i have just got my wedding dress and his suit but really need some advise,

we are on a really tight budget and i still need to get a bridesmaid dress, wedding ring for my partner, veil, shoes tiara jewellary and dont have a clue where to start looking to be able to find the cheapsest option possiable.

due to marrying abroad and not having the money now, we are unable to hire a hoarse and cart/ wedding car, flower decorations and photographer whilst over there as it is way to expensisve, so we are planning on organising a reception party when we get back and show the ceremony on dvd, so our families and friends are able to wach, again need as much advise as possiable to organise a reception so we can have a perfect wedding party when home,
if i had the option to hold the wedding off and save then we would however with it allready being booked and best man and bridesmaid have paid to go aswell we wouldnt get the money back ...

thanks all the advise is appreciatedx

  • Here are my tips:
Bridesmaid dresses, shoes, tiaras etc - BHS had sale on recently or try other normal shops for Bridesmaid dresses, ebay maybe.
You can get bargains at sample sales and there are wedding charity shops - that have samples and second hand items or donations too. Where do you live ?
Wedding ring - sales in jewellers, second hand, palladium is much cheaper than gold. Or what about asking around your family is their a ring that could be passed to you, his something borrowed ? Actually that could go for jewellery too. Then you could buy him a ring once you have more money. Could guests help with some vouchers maybe ? Instead of wedding pressies.
We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T

why not go away as planned and just have the ceremony with nice basic summery dress, then when back and things are better arrange a reception and have your vows reconfirmed and do the dress and everything then?

sorry i cant offer any better advice!.x

Try the local conservative/labour club for the reception when you get back? I booked one near my parents for the engagement do for £50, you can then make your own buffet to feed everyone, sort your own entertainment and the booze is pretty cheap too! And you don't have to be a member
