Help winter cheap wedding - what style dress?

Hi,
I really need some help choosing a (cheap winter) style of dress, I am 5'5, weigh approx 9 1/2 stone (plan on losing about 7lbs though) my bust is between 34 + 36 (so I guess I'm kinda 35, but when I tone up I'll be 34), my waist is 28 and hips are 36, and I have a flat bottom really. Also, I was thinking a going for a coloured dress as I don't really fancy a white one, I have medium dark brown hair, olive skin and green/brown eyes. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated? (I'm not really a dress person you see so don't know whether to go long or short either, what neckline,
style etc - I'm having a winter wedding in Prague in 8 weeks time - eek)
Does anyone know of any shops that cater for winter dresses (although i'm not really looking for a 'proper' dress)
Many Thanks

my sister-in-law got her wedding dress in the monsoon sale a few years ago for a february wedding. She was the same and didnt want a 'proper' dress, but she got a lovely pale pink evening dress which was gorgeous for about £100.0

I would start by looking at "bridesmaids" dresses...still showy enough BUT not white etc...
try Debenhams - http://www.debenhams.com/women#ps=default&storeId=10001&lid=%2F%2Fproductsuniverse%2Fen_GB%2Fproduct_online%3DY%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661_17627%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_18661_17627_66757_ms%7D&catalogId=10001
Monsoon - http://www.monsoon.co.uk/icat/dresses&bklist=icat,4,shop,women,dresses
Coast - http://www.coast-stores.com/Bridesmaid/package/fcp-category/categorylist?resetFilters=true
BHS - http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/bhsstore/226867/1/1
Also try the catalogues - sounds awful but they actually have some nice stuff if u have a good look lol!
Littlewoods - for example, they have Amanda Wakely dresses, some of which are lovely - like this: http://www.littlewoods.com/rf/p.do/dresses/long-wrap-dress?Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&SNtt=amanda+wakely&groupId=497676798&Nu=this_product&SNtk=generic_search&Np=1&SN=85+4294484651&Ntt=497676798&D=497676798&Ntk=group_search&Dx=mode%2bmatchall&thisprod=497676798&N=85+4294484651&Nty=1&Mis_item_id=15&Mis_item_loc_id=1&product=497676798
These stores also have more relaxed wedding gowns so have a look in those sections too
And congratulations!! A Prague winter wedding will be LUSH! I love Prague! Where are you getting married etc?? Tell us more!! ;o)
Edit - forgot to say...you can always "weddingy-up" a dress by having a wonderful wedding cape or cloak or fur stole type thing! Very wintery and cosy but glamorous!
Oooh - how lovely would this look.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310190132701&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Sorry - i am totally getting carried away!!!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -
Thank you, I will take a look at these sites/shops.
We're getting married at the old town hall (where the astronomic clock is), we're eloping so there will be no guests, just me and my fiance! So unfortunately I cannot ask peoples opinions/thoughts as we don't want ayone to know until we return from Prague.
Excited and daunted at the same time :-o)0 -

Colour-wise I think green would suit you.

Hiya
I just wanted to say good luck for your big day, i got married in the Old Town Hall too, 22nd March 2005 and it was absolutely AMAZING! We had never been to Prague before but totally fell in love with the place. The service is beautiful and the room is like nothing you would see in a civil ceremony here. We have been back several times since and have seen people coming out from their ceremony with all sorts of different syle dresses, Monsoon is definately good but look for more out of the way bridal boutiques (like in industrial estates) as they may have good sale bargains too. Have a wonderful time!!!0 -
I agree with Alenax - green would suit you, and would be lovely (especially if there is snow in Prague) bit of colour...!
Good Luck - How exciting xxWhy does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
Traditionally green is meant to be an unlucky colour to get married in if you belive that kind of thing! Just thought i'd mention it!0
