I am wondering if anoyone has had any success in removing defaults from their credit file.
I have two which i would love to get rid of.
I have one from O2 which was issued in Jan 2007 but shows as settled March 2007 this was for £595.
I have another that was issued by RBS Mint in August 2007 for £1600 but setteled in Aug 2007.
Is there anyway to get these removed or am i going to have to just sit it out untill 2013???

Unfortunately they are. I wont bore you all with the details but it was a bit of a rough patch for me financially with a newborn etc
But they were paid up asap but me eing stupid let it et to the default stage first not really realising that it would affect me so bad.
Any other credit arangement i have is fully up to date and has been for at least a year. Its just these two defaults that are doing me in.0 -
They can be removed as seen on the consumer action forums, but you need to be prepared to go to court.
I am looking to remove them myself and it looks to be a long, hard road.0 -
Defaults last for 6 years, so your looking for them to fall off in March/August 2013.
However, if the defaults were not sent, or they didnt give you time to correct the account you can challenge the default, never-in-doubt here might be able to provide some guidance, otherwise as above the CAG forums take a more direct approach.
However if as you say they were correctly applied, you will need to wait 6 years, they are put there are servre warnings to other creditors that you broke the contract.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
