Bed Delivered_ no screws

I ordered a bedroom set 5 weeks ago from Argos that included a bed, matress, wardrobe and chest of drawers. received a telephone call saying delivery would be wednesday 28th between 7 and 13.
took day off work and it arrived at 10, brilliant!
until i opened the first box,the bed and to my horror, no screws or fixtures at all ! ! . I rang Argos and got no appology just a "ill get some sent out to you, and it will take up to three weeks". I was gutted about this but set about building the wardrobe and drawers.
when i put them together and side by side they seem to be slightly different colour. again I rang them back and they said they could be returned but it would take another five weeks for them to be delivered. Didnt get any appology at all and I was really annoyed.
I cant even go the B&Q from to get the screws as there are millions needed!
Anyone else experienced the same problems?

Do yourself a favour and send the lot back. All the furniture I have seen from Argos has been very poor quality.
I bought a computer desk before Christmas as a stop gap until I could build my own, it was reduced from £35 to £8 and tbh I think it was still £5 overpriced. If it wasn't for the crowds at that time of year I would have returned it.
  • I haven't had the same problem, but I'd be very annoyed if I had a new bed and didn't get any screws :)

Quite simple; the goods you bought were not of merchantable quality, and as such you are entitled to get it sorted :)

However, the timescale is up to them unfortunately. I'd act SOON and threaten to return all goods and get refund - they don't have to speed things along, but they may. Be nice, and keep fingers crossed ;)

Dont bother with Argos ring up the makers they should be able to send them out quicker, should be contact number in the instructions

As for being different colour get a bit from each piece of furniture and look at them outside in sunlight it may be the lighting and shadows indoors that make them look different.
  • i ordered some furniture too and the box had already been ripped open and sellotaped back together, after opening it there were parts missing, looked like it had been sent back once and just re sent back out.my OH was well annoyed and it not the first time

I had a bed delivered from Argos over 2 years ago. Delivery and bed fine except for one little plastic piece to go on one of the legs. Asked Argos straight away for the bit, they said only if I dismantled the whole bed and arranged for another to be delivered and that one taken away - would take 5 weeks. I phones the manufacturer who were much more helpful(or so they seemed) and said they would send out the bit when they got some in stock. 2 years later and after repeated phonecalls .........nothing.
I also ordered a big TV from them which they tried to deliver on the wrong day when I wasn't in and had told them I wouldn't be in. They admitted it was their fault and agreed to deliver it to the local store so I could collect it from there. I went to the store to collect it but it wasn't there. When I got home I found that they had delivered it to my house and as I wasn't in harrassed my neighbour who was at the time undergoing chemotherapy treatment and was very unwell, into taking it into her house. They were apparently quite rude and unpleasant to her. I don't get home delivery items from Argos any more.

I have had a few things home delivery from argos, and they very rarely deliver on the day that they say they will.

Exactly the same with me. Ordered a Bed on Monday pm via internet, got a call on Tuesday stating delivery tomorrow (wed) thought FAB delivery was between 7-1, comes 13.30, I ring them to advise no driver had arrived only to be told, the bed was never loaded onto the van. Boy did I kick up a stink, wrangled £30 out of them!! he Bed arrived the following wednesday but was incomplete.
