and if she is on benifits any money she gets could affect her benifits as she will be classed as having savings..
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

I was in a video store when a woman pushed to the front and told the manager "It was my son who fell through your roof and broke his leg and my solicitor says to sue you ".He took it very well and gave her his insurace details.I would have sued her for letting her son damage my roof. What was he doing up there?
Back to the OP.I fell off a slide as a kid and broke my arm. These things happen, and unless the playground was actually dangerous, then just accept it.

My daughter broke her arm in the school playground a few months ago. Also on a climbing frame. The accident happened a couple of minutes before school was due to start. She was being watched by her mother at the time.

The thought of obtaining ‘compensation’ from the school has never even crossed my mind. Accidents like this happen. As she is quite a dare devil when it comes to climbing, I’ve no doubt that if it had not happened at school, it would have happened elsewhere. I’m hoping that she’s learned to be a little more careful – time will tell! The staff at the school were very caring and helpful. The provided first aid immediately and also offered to call an ambulance, fortunately I was still in the car park and able to take her to hospital.

My other daughter also broke her arm several months ago at a childrens play centre. In contrast, she was offered very little in the way of first aid and they did not offer to call an ambulance. She had to wait until I arrived there from work and took her to hospital. The hospital did not X-ray her arm and sent her home saying it was a sprain. When we took her back two days later (swelling had worsened) they did and X-ray and she had 3 fractures which required manipulation under anaesthetic. The injury was caused by a boy using the slide before she had cleared it and landing heavily on her arm. Although I feel aggrieved by the lack of concern show by the centre at the time and with the hospital for not diagnosing the fractures in the first instance, I would still not consider suing any of the parties involved. Also, I don’t blame the little boy for making an innocent mistake – after all, it was an accident and he could not have foreseen the consequences.

Both of my girls have had complications with their fractures healing and my only concern remains that they heal properly – not in chasing people for money. I think we also have to remember that we are fortunate enough in this country to have free medical care – at least free in the sense that you don’t have to put your hand in your pocket when you arrive at hospital and don’t get left with a huge bill at the end of your treatment. The compensation culture that we are inheriting comes from America where you have to pay for your medical treatment. It’s more understandable that people seek compensation under these circumstances as they may not be able to meet the cost of medical care otherwise.

Thank you to everyone for your kind helpful comments. It does worry me that the structure has caused so many accidents in such a short time. I worry a child could brake it's neck. The school is well known as a bad uncaring school. I think that is why the compensation thought came up, so it may make the staff think. I wouldn't know who to tackle about the situation.
Thank you Bossyboots. I mentioned the personal situation about the mother just to point out that she is certainly in no position to be caught out by hidden fees.
Think of happiness as a kind of mental gardening.
