Any "Help with costs" commitment received with a product which was withdrawn prior to 9/9/03 does not have to be repaid and can be rolled forward onto a new NR product. It would only need to be repaid if the borrower leaves for another lender.0 -
I was aware of this old rule- hence my comment-" are they waiving it " in my first post
Believe that was the rules in the past but not that clear - so yes may apply to people ( the OP ?) who had those conditions on their scheme then- although seem to remember some strange rules about it being extended if taken again.

I'd personally call that "strictly true", Dougie. If you are restricted from leaving them, you are restricted to choosing one of their products - so effectively you are tied in to what might not be the best deal at that time.
And it sounds from your post as if it is no longer even allowed to be rolled onto other NR products, which makes it an even worse deal. But I have read so many posts saying "I'm opting for help with fees because ..."0
