I joined these boards last December and I just wanted to let you all know how far I have come in 6 months----the best year of my life at tackling debt! I know that I would have been in this same positition this December(no not quite true probably worse off!!) if I hadnt taken some brilliant advice off here!
These are my savings to date--hope it helps some newbies on here to see just what you can achieve in a few months!
Cut food bill down to £50 week
saving minimum £520 year
Changed gas supples saving £135 year plus £12.50 cashback for changing
NTL SAVINGS----one off payment of £30 when i complained about something. Phone reduced from £18.00 to £9.50 per month saving £8.50.
TV reduced from £21.50 to £16.00
Internet reduced from £17.99 to £9.99.
Therefore saving of £22 times £12 which is £264 for the year and with the £30 that is a saving of £294 year.
Payment protection mortgage reduced from £15.80 to £9.80 saving £72 per year.
Saving on car insurance of £124.16 per year.---includes £50 postal orders from PO for doing through PO
House insurance changed Saving £86.47 per year.
£22.50 from Cashback site for House insurance.
£811.00 Bank Charges back from Capital One.
PPI refunded on Loan----£183.50
So my savings to date are £2261.13
Thats approx £2.5K in one year I have saved
just shows how briilliant this site is!!!!

Lynz I got a little note book and I have written everything in it as I knew I would never remember! I have just noticed that NTL have charged me the full price again for this month so I am currently trying to get through to them to complain!! You never know i might get a couple of free months LOL

Good idea to keep track of it all, really good for motivation to be able to remind yourself how much you've done and that it has all been worth it!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs.
