Wanted Ping pong Balls and Craft Ideas

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I couldn't work out were it should go.

I need 15 Ping Pong balls for a after school project but have no budget so need them really cheap or free does anyone have any ideas.

Also ideas on simple crafts for 6 years olds which can be made in 1/2 hour would be most welcome.

How about approaching your local sports centre? They may have some old balls that are past their best that they could let you have.

Try posting a wanted ad on freecycle. It is amazing the odd things people have lying around and are happy to give away.

Can't help with the ping pong balls, but I can suggest a few craft activities. I run an after school arts and crafts club for 7-9 year olds so I have tried and tested these ideas :)

    * Making a tissue paper collage. Print free simple colouring pictures (www.coloring.ws) and children can fill it in using scrunched up tissue paper and PVA glue.

    * A handprint poem - children draw around their hand on coloured paper and cut out as many as there is time for. They then stick them around an A4 piece of paper which has got this poem printed on:

    "My dirty little fingerprints
    I've left on every wall,
And on the drawers and table tops,
    I've really marked them all.
But here is one that won't rub off,
    I'm giving it to you,
Because I'm thankful for a (mother, father, brother, sister) just like you!"

If there is time they (or you) could paint their hand and do a handprint at the bottom of the poem.

    * http://www.makingfriends.com/f_Friends.htm - free printable paper dolls and lots of different outfits to dress them in.

Try www.crayola.com for craft ideas. Also try looking for books with craft ideas in the children's section of your local library. The Usborne books are excellent.
