There's a van goes to our local market and you get some lovely meat from it. It's a bit hit and miss as you never know what he's going to have from week to week, but it's much cheaper than the butchers/shops.
The lorry has farm logo's and information on it, so you know exactly where the meat has come from. He also backs this up and says "these are chickens from ........" when he's selling them.
It's not packaged as well as supermarkets - eg I bought £5lb of mince for £5 and just got it all in a carrier bag, so I split it into useable portions at home and freeze.Here I go again on my own....0
