Camera prices go up in summer???

Anyone else noticed the slowly increasing prices for the Canon 30D DSLRs over the last couple of months? I'm guessing it just pre-summer hols price hyping and it will start to tail off in month of so, but anyone know for sure?

  • Hi,

Not to sure about camera going up but here a tale that might help you.

I recently purchased from digital-rev ( ebay name and NO its not me,I wish as they must make ££££,s ) a 70 / 200 IS USM and recived it in less then 3 days by UPS - WOW ( amazing lens so fast )

Anyway the camera body i had was a 350D which looked out sorts with such a lens but they did work well togther.

So sold my 350D what i paid for it and went for a 30D

Digital Rev Quoted me 859-99 for the body - lens kit and screen guard - plus an orginal battery grip - once again recived in 3 days

I then sold the camera grip for £110 and £10pp on ebay - so with fee,s taken of 95 minus the orignal price £764.90 which i though very cheap as its nearly £700 to get a 20D.

This is a good site for prices:

While i have to say that the 30D taken something of a slating as its just a slight upgrade from the 20D - and if you went for broke and got the nikon D200 which is amazing but £300 more

I decide to go down the route spending as much as i could on the glass and with the 30D and 70 / 200 IS USM which is nearly as good as the prime lens without the restrictions I,am get amazing results

Alot people might have a diffreant opion but this seems to work for me

Included some shots I took last year at fairford airshow with a canon 300D and 70 / 200 L lens NON IS
