Account was only closed 10/11/2003, so at present it wont expire until 10/11/2009.
interestingly there is no default date, you should ask the lender to confirm this and update the file accordingly, if the default was sometime before the settlement date then the information should expire 6 years from the date of default, Not settlement:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
default date was in 99 date 2003 is when i paid it0

Data should be removed then, write to the original creditor in the first instance and request that as the default date is over 6 years ago ( legal termintion of the contract) that all data should now be removed.
If they fail to respond / action inform the CRA and Information commsioners office:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
heh aint got a clue who em guys are
i know i got a letter off a debt agent and i paid em in full the 200 and odd is was. the amount was pennies realy. will be able to chase the debt agent i have last 6 years of bank statements will be on there somewhere
to think if i had never bothered to contact them or pay em it would be off my report. Even when u do the right thing u still get screwed
thanks for the help file_wizzard0 -
In this case would raise a notice of dispute with the Credit reference agency, they will contact the data controller and ask them to verify the data, if the data controller fails to respond within 28 days then the data will be remove from your file ( Equifax, Callcredit) if the data is held with Experian they are more problematic and will not remove the data upon no response.
if the data controller / the Credit reference agency refuse to remove the data then the only step you have left is to write to the Information commissioners office and ask for a request for assessment.
if the account was terminated over 6 years ago then legally all data should expire at the 6 year point:rolleyes: It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0 -
thanks dude it only shows with 1 of the 3 agents anyway...
my rating with the other 2 are fantastic but it shows how much 1 little default can pull it down0 -
after loads of looking around 2003 is when they bought the debt off another agent
sent online request to Equifax to remove this infomation from file. can take up to 28 days.
nothing i can do but wait till next month. Hopefully no reply and its removed0
