house deed and mortgage help

good evening,

not too sure if i have posted in the correct forum, if so apologies to all.

i need help on the following matter;

my mother and I have a joint mortage on the house we live in and also both are names are on the deed. my mum got married and now her husband of 3 yrs is threating with divorce that he going to be claiming for half of the house even thoughtmy mum pays all the bills/ mortgage payments from us both in her name and he has not contributed financially to the house.

my 1st question is if my mum can transfer her share of the mortgage and house into my sisters name and he cannot claim anything? is this possible as I do not want him to gain anything for doing nothing???

1. His name is not on the deeds
2. He has no evidence of contributing to the mortgage
3. Thank god, your mum didn't put him on the mortgage when they married...

He is just pushing his luck....leave well alone...you can sleep well tonight now..!

thank you so much, he has been emotionally threatening my mother that he has equal rights to everything and can get money from everything she owns.

he is still living in the house and we are living in fear of him and telling us that he will take us to court to claim for what is rightfully his.

as it may be a divorce matter he may still get 25% of the house.

we are seeing a solicitor to seek the best option available.

he has only just got his visa to stay in the UK permantely and now his wife and kids are based here!!!

legal advice asap...say no more! (his wife and kids are based here!!!)!!

If he has only just recieved the right to stay in this country and it gets nasty your mum can report him to immigration saying she feels he only married her to stay here. Take legal advice on this first.
