What do you do with creditors after BR?

Hi Everyone,
As you know I went bankrupt yesterday and had the best night sleep for a long time! Go up in the morning, knowing that it is a new start, it feels great.
Anyway, I got some post today and it was so strange that I have the courage to open all of them in one go - previously, I will stack them aside and try to prevent I did not get them. Yes, yes, letters from creditors threatening to take me to court!
Do I have to notify them that I am now bankrupt? Do I send them a copy of my bankruptcy order? Or do I leave them alone and let OR deal with them?
Please advise.
Many thanks.

It is up to you, personally I would keep the letters and then pass them on to the OR. I have sent copies of my BO and wrote numerous emails with my BO attached, but the letters still keep coming. Therefore now I don`t bother, just keep any that come and eventually pass them to my OR. The creditors/DCA`s are so thick skinned that they just ignore you, even though they know you are BR. At the end of the day there is nothing they can do to you now you are BR.:pB&SC No. 298

Would not hurt to send them a copy of your bankruptcy. Although the OR will let them all know and it would save the cost of stamps. Took about six weeks or so for our letters and calls to stop(still get the odd one) If any one rings just give them your BR number and the name of your OR and which court you were dealt with. Everybody we spoke to were very pleasant and professional, so don't be scared.

send br recorded deliv to all creds and inform OR by a letter listing all who you have informed ask the OR to confirm who they have informed on your behalf then go out and buy a shredder for any mail you get from the idiots who threaten you after that i stuck a load back in post return to sender. Also look into the procedure to get them a juicy fine as i know they deserve it dcas are complete low lifes." just my opinion"0

Hi Charliewalsh
we also saved our stamp money, it was quite amusing seeing what they wrote once the pressure was off. I would just tell those that phone and leave the rest to the OR that is, after all, what they do.
Just chill now make sure your ready for your interview and dont worry about the creditors[STRIKE]Shazbo[/STRIKE]

Hi Charlie
really glad you are OK now. this site is like habing the family you always dream of having!
I have spoke with creditors as they have called and to be honest Egg who I was infromed was one of the worst has not called or sent any more post. Barclaycard sent a Mercer letter called them and they have sent no more, but my OH barclaycard have continued to call and leave messages so if and when they get round to passing it to Mercer I will call them.
good luck mate you know where we are when you need us!If Carling made web-sites this would proberly be the best website in the world :T
