cashback confusion

Hi all - hope I've posted this in the appropriate section...
I've been using cashback websites for some time but have recently come across something called ipoints - it seems to be a reward scheme where you use it to link to other sites before you spend money.
Does anyone know if I'm right about this, or is ipoints something else completely? And is it more or less rewarding than cashback sites such as Topcashback??
Also, the energy company I recently switched to gives me nectar points - I've not had a nectar card before, do you use it like a normal credit card??
Sorry for being so clueless, thanks in advance for any responses

Yes iPoints is the same as any cashback site except they award points instead of cash - and you do get less than TopCashback. I'd suggest your better sticking with TopCashback, Quidco or one of the other higher paying sites.
Nectar card is the reward scheme through Sainsburys (so like a Boots Advantage Card). You collect the points and can buy things from their website http://www.nectar.com/NectarHome.nectar e.g. 500 points = £2.50 off your shopping.
You need to sign up to Nectar if you haven't already and they'll send you a card which you can also earn points on when you shop in Sainsburys. I'm not sure about getting those points from your energy company though as I think you'd have to have given them your Nectar card number before they could give you the points.TWBM in 2010 (#200): DSLR Camera, DS, £1K+ cash

Thanks - I'll stick with the cashback sites.
I do have a nectar card but haven't used it yet - I wasn't sure how it worked exactly, thought it might be similar to the reward points I get on my normal credit card0
