Hi, I need some oatmeal for a recipe, but can't seem to find it in the shops at the mo. Does anyone know if I could just whizz some porridge oats in the food processor and use it instead? (It's to add to the flour in a bread roll recipe)
Many thanks!
Many thanks!

I've done this - the porridge oats I had in the house were the really big ones so I ground them down a bit - worked fine.0

I've always just ground up oats into oatmeal and it works fine - and is cheaper than buying oatmeal!0

ariba10 it only takes a few minutes to cook porridge oats in the micro-wave anyway. We use jumbo oats and it takes about 5 minutes for a double portion!0
