First Time Buyers....Will We Get A Mortgage?

My fiance and I have been renting for over 3 years now and are currently living in our 4th rented house. We have never had any problems paying our rent etc.
We are looking at trying to get a mortgage for around £130,000 and have £15000 to put down as a deposit. We are both employed. My fiance is full time but i am returning to work in a few weeks part-time after being on maternity leave.
The problem is, neither of us have a very good credit history. My fiance had a bad accident over 6 years ago which meant he could not work. He ended up having to pay his outgoings via CCCS but has never had a CCJ or anything.
I had quite a few missed payments on my debts but also never had a CCJ. I think i have a few defaults on my file.
My fiance received enough money to pay off our debts so we are both now debt free but we are worried that the above will effect our chances of getting a mortgage.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Obtain copies of your credit file, then show these to a whole of market adviser who should be able to clarify what opportunities are open to you...taking into consideration your credit file/income/affordability etc..0

Mmm, it will be tricky, but as vigi says, get your credit files from Experian online and take them to an experienced mortgage broker (not an IFA unless they focus on mortgages alone).
Good luck0 -
Defaults and 90% lending do not go together.
Without knowing all the specifics it is difficult to say, but I think you will struggle with this.
