Searching to see if I've won query???

Hi fellow MSE Compers. I've been comping via this MSE forum for several months now and have had some success that I am very happy with. Many thanks to the people who have taken the trouble to post these comps.

I have been following the advice in the "Comping Guide" on making regular searches to see if I've won any comps and this has also been successful (woohoo).

BUT! Out of curiosity I viewed the winners lists at GMTV & also Maxim and then took several of the winners names and tried searching (Google) to see if I could find their corresponding wins. To my surprise, I could not find the GMTV and Maxim wins, which has got me wondering if the Google search engine has some issues?

Please try some examples yourself and I'm sure everyone would be interested in the results?

Of course this may just be me being a muppet, so apologies in advance if I am missing the obvious!

i don't know about searching for names as my name is too common so I only ever search by my username - seems to show up most of the winners lists that i know i'm on

I just usually search like this... "Joe Bloggs" winner or winners list. It usually comes up with some wins. (No...Joe Bloggs is not my real name!) :rotfl:
