Recently i've been declined for credit, so have just checked my credit report and am shocked by what i've seen.
next didn't deliver the items i requested back in february, and are still investigating-so put a stop to stmts being sent to me, as i didn't owe them anything. however i rec'd a stmt last month requesting pymt immediately. i spoke to cust services and they apologised and said that it wouldn't affect my credit rating and that they would sort it - BUT it's showing 3 mths missed payments on my credit report!!!!!
tesco personal finance (pers loan) have got me down as missing 3 payments, but this is because my bank are struggling to register the direct debit, and i pay by switch every month in the mean time!!
i am also a linked associate to my sister in law (same name, but completely different address) and i know she has a terrible credit score, is there anything i can do??!!

Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

You need to contact Tesco & Next re the missed payments.
If you have no shared debts with your SIL, then contact the credit reference agency and complete a notice of disassociation to "disconnect" your credit file with hers.
If you do have shared debts with her, there's nothing you can do.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

I had something very similiar with Genie Mobile, the predesessor of O2. I opened an account with them in 2001 and the account was closed 3 ,months later due to their errors on my account and I was told the alledgely £75 pounds outstanding on my account had been wiped.
I never recieved any bills from them again and was happy.
In 2005 I went to purchase a pc on finance and was declined. I could not underrstand it. After much nagging by me the finance company told me that I had an outstanding£75 debt with Genie mobile!
Genie had ceased being, I could not remember my old phone number, and so it was a long hard struggle. I eventually spoke to O2 and demanded that someone take ownership and contact the reference agencies and correct this problem. They had no reference of my account at all, and so I obviously could not have owed anyone any money!!
They did as I said and that record has now gone.
Just stand your ground and get refrence numbers from all parties and check they have done what they say they have done is my advice.0 -
i really sympathise with you. Next sent me a catalogue which i NEVER requested did a credit search on me too which i NEVER agreed to and then tried to chase me for the cost of the cataloque four quid i think!!!
It was incredible i spent hours trying to get through to the right department to get them to cancel everything and in the meantime a four quid missed payment was showing on my report!!!
i really hope you can get notices of correction done and sort out the stuff with your SIL

Next are rubbish - they sold my account to a debt collector for NO reason at all and when I phoned to find out why they had no explanantion and got all defensive. Eventually they sent me a letter saying they had retrieved my account and removed the default that showed on my account but now I'm wondering if they actually have done this successfully!0
