I don't think you can do better than the flexibility of an offset mortgage. Try and find one with as low as rate as possible.
I think Newcastle BS have brought out an offset and Coventry offset do good rates.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I've got a one account as well ...only since last November (wasn't impressed with Intelligent Finance when I asked about an advance for home improvements etc so I moved my mortgage..as bit drastic I know....but then by that time I hadn't had a reply to about 5 emails requesting info...although 3 of these had been passed to the mortgage dept for them to get back to me urgently.....and when I did get to speak to someone he just laughed!!.......could have been laughing at something else but I didn't think it was very professional at all.........after that he said would I like to go ahead! and when I said no I'll be moving my mortgage.he wasn't the slightest bit bothered..
I'm intending to sell this house and buy my second in the near future......I think I'll be keeping the mortgage with the One account..........like the flexibility it offers........I'm sure there are others as well0 -
Check out the First Direct offset accounts. Very flexible, all other accounts linked to the offset, internet banking is very easy and the phone is always answered by a real breathing person, in this country, 24/7/365.
When I remortgaged just over a year ago, I was offered more favourable terms through London & Country than going directly to First Direct.0
