Yes if pensioners not on Pension Credit they have to pay for dental treatment. However, depending on their income they may be entitled to help via completing a Health Cost Form (HC1) available from local Social Security but has to be sent to Pension Credit in Derry for assessment. Although all income except AA/DLA is taken in , in their assessment they are allowed for Housing Costs if applicable i.e Rent, Mortgage, Rates0

I go to Philip at Maria McElholm's Surgery 54 Malone Road 9066 1511. It's about £7 for a check up and they were taking new clients recently. You have to book appointments well in advance though.0

If you don't mind going a bit further south- Carryduff!- my husband recently registered with Church Road Dental Care. Tel- 9081 7848. He got his first appointment quickly, and was really pleased with the treatment. The dentist he saw was David Mann.0
