Please Please HELP

im just wondering where i stand - i wil try and make it short and quick
i got a loan for 6000 for a car
1 year later i asked for a settlement fig.
they said it was 5200
but they said there was a direct debit for 130 due in 2/3 days
i said i would send a cheque now for 5000
they said they would contact me and tell me the exact fig. i owe
after the 2 payments were made( i make it 70)
well there was no contact -- so i thought it was clear
well 12 months ago they contact me and say i owe them 2100
ive argued the point as set out above saying that it shouldonly be 70
they said cos it wasnt paid of in full at the time i have to pay the 5 years ful interest
its now got to the point of them threatening me with taking goods from my house
it has been passed on to 3 debt collecting firms which i have tried to explain the above but they have steadily got more abusive

can anyone tell me if they are right in demanding 2100
when according to me it should be 70
what happenned to my 5000 (they said t was put into a non interest account-- then each month it paid of my monthly payment)
and why on earth would i pay 99% of the debt and leave a little amount

please help im really concerned

  • Sorry I can't help except to say perhaps contact CAB, have a look on Debt advice threads and also bump you along so your post is noticed who is more knowledgeable

With regards to taking goods from your home I'm pretty sure that they can't do this unless they have obtained a CCJ against you and then a warrant of execution. Baliffs (even with a warrant) cannot force themselves into your home - they can however come in through an open door or window

    Best of luck
