Endownment question

Hi,
I have been turned down for compensation by the FSCS due to the fact that the former IFA (now Estate Agents ) are still in business. They have said that I should approach the FOS and I am now filling in the application form and have a question or two ?
They are asking questions such as " what were your earnings when taking out the endownment " and " what were your outgoings " Now with this 1988 how am I supposed to remember ? Is it therefore better to guess at a lower monthly figure i.e. £600 rather than £1200 per month ? Also is it better to have monthly outgoings at the same rate as income, less or more ?
How are we supposed to remember this far back it is absolutely ridiculous !!!
Please mail me on sandforthintl@yahoo.com
Thank you - JB

You seem to remember it being mis-sold so your memory must be fine.
If in doubt you say cannot recall. Do not guess or make up a figure.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Now Now Dunston, lets not be sarky!!, I remember my wedding day 10 years ago but I couldn't tell you the price of a pint back then though I drank enough of them!
JB007uk no-one expects you to remember what your wages/outgoings were nearly 20 years ago just say you cant't remember. You might also like to point out that they should have these details in their files, a bare minimum for arranging a mortgage don't you think?
