Extra unforseen expenses

This isn't really a post for help, but a bit of a moan if ok. At the end of Dec I sat and wrote out my budget for Jan. Covered absolutely everything the CCCS had put on my outgoings each month.... was tight but manageable.
Then came the snow.... because I live in a rehab for people with mental health issues there isn't the option to stay in until the snow goes. So had added expense of taxi's. Then the home announced it wanted to take us on holiday to Spain this year... at the expense of £400 +. I said I just didn't have that kind of money. They replied with " oh you have until August to save up" I said I don't have any extra money with paying my debts and saving up for stuff for a flat later on in the year. So it went down in my notes I'm not interested in the hol :(
I feel I'm in a loosing battle with my debts, not with myself, but with the attitude of my support staff. I'm trying soooo hard to be debt free, and it's a priority to me, but not to them.
Sorry just needed to moan :(

well i have to say well done for being strong and keeping to your priorities that takes a lot of guts

i also want to say the atitude of the staff if appauling and they should know better, having worked in a mental health environment myself for a while i know they should be much more understanding with these things

however one thing that needs to be clarified is do the staff know about your current debt management plan with the CCCS? if not this might be a reason why they said about the holiday, the other reason could be policy that they have to invite everyone no matter what

but just wanted to say well done again for sticking to your guns :)
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
  • oh yes they know. They read all my mail (after I've opened it) It is because the other residents are relatively well off compared to me. They don't have as many outgoings, so can save. My debts and living independently are priority to me.. holidays can wait :)
