Thanks for the warning. We have recently seen someone re-ebbaying a shocking copy of a dress, it was wonky and everything. Do you have pics of yours?!0

Thanks for the warning as well. I was considering using them but the risk is too great - am going to try and get a second hand one instead. MSE and greener!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Shel i think you misunderstood superfrans post. The lady selling her poorly made dress, is being totally honest thats its a rubbish dress. Shes selling it as people may want to use it for the fabric. She isnt being deceitful.
If you want to buy a second hand dress, try preloved, or search ebay for dresses near you that you can go and try or at least see before you buy.
If you want to order from China, try Landy. Theres a thread on here, plenty of ladies are happy with their dresses from there. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Milly Bridal has also been recommended - they even make a mock up of you dress so you can change bits if you don't like them and send you photo updates!0

Hi,
Just to throw this into the mix I have just received my bridesmaids dress from this company and it is fantastic! I found them really helpful and have matched the design really well.
I am so sad to hear that someone has had a bad experiance with them, although it is correct that they claim to be UK based, they have a shop in Reading but the dresses are made in china.

I do have a lot of ladies who contact me privately with their horror stories and I've seen some awful dresses. Sad thing is many ladies don't want to admit they've not got their dream dress. They are so distraught and with this being MSE, having to fork out again for a dress isn't really MSE is it?
Thing is with anything you buy over the net, you pays your money, you takes the chance. With distance purchases, anyone can set up a web business and run it from a seedy office somewhere. These types of people have no morals or scruples, they just want the money and many vunerable brides are happy to part with their cash based purely on an image they have been sold and very limited contact between themselves and the company.
Many people see weddings as an easy way to rip people off. They think couples will pay whatever to get whatever. £150 for a dress? Wow, bargain, but not so much so when that bargain falls apart. That is £150 down the pan.
Stay with the companies that are tried and trusted. (Can't believe I am saying that lol) And remember, if something seems to good to be true, it usually isn't.0 -
I paid £175 for this dress and the reason I paid that little bit extra is because I thought it was a UK company....I was going to get my dress from Landy for £130 but I felt better getting it from the UK but little did I know it was coming from china anyway so maybe I would have been better with Landy!!Its better to have loved and lost than not loved at all
